About the Research Proposal Paper

With this assignment, you will develop the first section of your Research Proposal paper for this course. Your paper will follow the standard outline of the proposal for the Directed Research Project (DRP). The DRP, a major research paper on a topic (or problem) in your discipline, is a requirement of your graduate work . The proposal for the DRP comprises the following sections:

  1. Context of the problem.
  2. Statement of the problem.
  3. Research questions.
  4. Significance of the study.
  5. Research design and methodology.
  6. Organization of the study.
  7. Tentative reference list.

Submit a one to two (1-2) page description of the problem, following these criteria:

  1. Describe the history of the problem and why it is a problem.
  2. Identify where and for whom it is a problem.
  3. Identify the purpose of your research on this problem.

 

The format of the description is to be as follows:

 

  • Typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman font (size 12), one-inch margins on all sides, APA format.
  • Use headers for each of the subjects being covered, followed by your response.
  • In addition to the content page required, a title page is to be included. The title page is to contain the title of the assignment, your name, the instructor’s name, the course title, and the date.

 

Note: You will be graded on the quality of your answers, the logic/organization of the content, your language skills, and your writing skills.

· Identify a research problem, develop a comprehensive research design, and formulate a research proposal consistent with the standards of the university’s Directed Research Project (DRP).
