Choose a photograph depicting a violent moment from an actual historical event that is, for you, its own kind of “Guernica.” Research the event you have chosen. Also, read Susan Sontag’s article “Regarding the Pain of Others.” Refer to BOTH your research and Sontag’s article as you write a (minimum) three-paged, double-spaced and typed paper about why you made this choice. Attach a copy of the image to your paper and be prepared to read your paper and discuss your chosen image in class
